Born and raised in Indiana, Thomas is an active cinematographer and still photographer. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Cinema/Television. He has served as Director of Photography on numerous feature films, short films and commercials.
Thomas has received several cinematography awards including Best Cinematography at the Hermosa Beach Film Festival for his work on "Rites of Winter" and three cinematography awards for his work on "The Book and the Rose". "The Book and the Rose" was also a semi-finalist for the 2003 Academy Award for Best Short - Live Action.

Thomas has amassed an extensive still photography portfolio, including a series of images from carnivals around the country. Many of his photos have been seen in public exhibitions throughout Los Angeles.
